Visionaries, beach and Krav Maga

Hello dear fellows!

So the last week I was on the road as usual, I spend my weekend in Malmö at an amazing summit! By a very lucky incident I got the opportunity to meet amazing people, visionaries and pioneers who make a positive change in society. The energy, the feeling of being amidst peers who fight for a cause – WOW. (It was so impressive, that I want the world to see the effect it had on me physically – that’s why I have a new haircolor 😀 ) IMG_6256I’ll tell you about the lucky incident in another story, at this point I just want to thank my “big sister” that she made this possible for all of us ❤

5 days full of life stories, life missions, positive energy, the sea, sunshine and summer. Meeting new friends for life and adding members to my world wide family (as a Nomad that is essential). I had two wonderful Krav Maga teachers from the Netherlands and Russia/Mexico (we trained every morning before breakfast close or at the beach), a motivated sportsbuddy from Canada, a wonderful bike buddy from Dubai (biking around until the early hours and discovering Malmö and its falafels), a new best friend from Denmark, the greatest guide from Sweden and the youngest participant from Pakistan (16, it’s just amazing, when I was 16 I was at home reading or watching TV). Just to name a few of the amazing people I met. Swimming in the cold sea (well yeah swimming helped to keep warm but still my hands and feet died once or twice XD) before breakfast, then listening to interesting speakers and enjoy lunch in the sun – and the best part: It’s called work, people!

Some input from the summit: I learned about the project #LittleBigMalmö with which Finnur Sverrisson creates the worlds most international city, it is an amazing project and so far there are only 22 nations missing, out of 193! Roopam Sharma, an indian Scientist is known for his work on #Manovue, the world’s first intelligent personal assisting system for the visually impaired. His goal is to make it accessible for everyone not only for those with money (good for me too as I get the feeling I am sloooowly turning blind). Malena Sigurgeirsdottir and Jessica Buhl-Nielsen create edible insect snacks as a viable solution for affecting climate change (I hate insects, but the snacks taste great :O ). Deepak Ramola is collecting life lessons for the last 9 years (forgive me if the number of years is different, my memory is like a goldfish – 10 seconds) and teaching them in workshops #ProjectFuel. Ingi Mehus is using storytelling #PocketStories and thus creates a more inclusive society (I love your project Ingi and hope we can collaborate). Shahira Amin an independent journalist gave me back some hope that journalism can still make a change and also spreads positive and powerful news (Thanks for that). Ole Kassow gives old people a way back to feeling alive and part of the community through his project #Cycling without age (if you like cycling, do something good and engage with this project!). Milda Mitkutė is a co-founder of #vinted (Kleiderkreisel for Germans) a platform I use since more than 6 years (I tried to sell my clothes and ended up buying interesting things XD). Anne Dvinge founded #Low-Fi which makes living room concerts possible, bringing people closer and living a real and personal experience (I went to my first living room concert last month, it’s amazing way more magic involved than at a big concert). Ricardo Koanuka gave us a lot of energy and I find it inspiring to see how he motivated all of us (by the way I do a similar work yay). Victoria Ibiwoye is active in non-formal education with activity-based workshops on global citizenship for disadvantaged children and youth in Africa – #OneAfricanChild. There were more inspiring people, look them up at: http://www.summit2018.y2yinitiative.org/speakers

Sorry for the long post, I could write so much more, I haven’t even started to tell you in detail. But I still hope that you get a first impression. The next summit is in 2019 and I can’t wait for it! If you are interested keep yourself updated on http://www.y2yinitiative.org or follow me.

Thanks for your patience and have a great weekend! (For once I stay home – even if it’s only two days)
